Sault Ste. Marie, MI – August 20, 2024 – Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action (CLMCAA)
proudly announces the 50th anniversary of its Dial-A-Ride service, one of Michigan’s oldest public
transportation systems. To commemorate this milestone, from September 1 through September 7,
2024, Dial-A-Ride will offer fares for just fifty cents.
“We are honored to have served the community for five decades and look forward to continuing our
mission of providing reliable transportation to those who need it most,” said Joe Nolan, Executive
Director of CLMCAA.
Since 1974, Dial-A-Ride has been a lifeline for the community, providing approximately 20,000 rides
annually, with 80% of these trips serving seniors and individuals with disabilities. This special
promotion underscores CLMCAA’s continued commitment to accessible and affordable
transportation.
“For fifty years, we’ve been more than just a ride service—Dial-A-Ride has become a way for our
community to connect, share stories, and support each other. It’s a joy to help our neighbors not
just get around town, but also to foster these relationships while doing what they need to do,” said
Troy Earls, Transportation Director at CLMCAA.
Please note that the 50 Cent fares are limited to 1 punch pass (10 rides) for the week. For more
