Sault drops final football game to Gaylord

The Sault High Varsity football team traveled to Gaylord in week nine of the regular football season. In a battle of the Blue Devils, it was the Gaylord Blue Devils that came out on top. On offense, Cale Bell led the way with 25 yards in 10 carries. Brylon Van Elswyk was 10 for 15 for 68 yards. Tristan Walcher had 4 catches for 10 yards, Evan Kennedy had 2 for 22 yards, and Ezra Beach was 2 for 14. On defense, Beach and Bell both had 5 tackles, and Evan Kennedy had 4 tackles.

The Sault JV Blue Devils hosted Gaylord at home in their last game of the season. Though they put up a good fight, they too fell to Gaylord’s combined freshman and JV teams.

Both teams and their families will reflect on the season with an end of the year banquet and awards ceremony next week.
