Amy Luanna Papist, age 68, of Newberry, Michigan, died on April 15, 2024, at Medilodge in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born on January 29, 1956, in Newberry, to Rodney and Mavis (Holbrook) Cummings.

Amy grew up in Newberry and graduated from Newberry High School. After graduation, Amy met Steven Papist, and they were married on September 6, 1975, and started their family. While diligently raising her three children, Amy worked hard on her upholstery business.

Amy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, upholstering furniture, and most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Amy is survived by her loving husband Steven; her children, Stephanie (David Pigeon) Papist, and Amos (Patsy Fitzik) Papist all of Newberry; grandchildren, Ava, Ethan, and Emerson Papist; and brother Lonny (Rosie Betterly) Cummings.

Amy was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Papist; parents, Rodney and Mavis; and brother, Wesley Cummings.

Per Amy’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
