Obituary For Audie M Potter
Audie M. Potter, age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and formerly of Pickford,
Michigan, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at his residence. He was born
on September 13, 1956, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Marvin and Kathleen (Batho) Potter.
Audie graduated from Pickford High School with the class of 1974. He had worked at Quinnell
Funeral Home for ten years, Hovie Funeral Home for seven years, UPS for seventeen years,
Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Delta Force Security, DK Security at Soo Locks, and at
Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. He volunteered for the Pickford Volunteer Fire Department
for 30 years and the Pickford Ambulance service for 25 years. Audie had served for the
Chippewa County Sheriff’s Posse.
Audie enjoyed spending his time hunting, target and clay shooting (with mixed results), visiting
the local bakeries, horse riding, racing snowmobiles, was a Michigan and Michigan State fan (depending which son he was around), and cheered for the Detroit Lions. Audie always enjoyed
talking and visiting with anyone – he was never a stranger. He was a kind, jovial, and giving
person that above all, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Audie was a member
of the Westshore Sportsman Club and the Michigan International Racing Association.
Audie is survived by the love of his life, Sherry, of Manitowoc; daughter, Ashley (Tim) Carty, of
Manitowoc; sons, Nick (Kelsey) Potter, of Manitowoc; and Jordan (Amanda) Potter, of North
Richland Hills, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Trinity, Tayvia, Breckyn, Hunter, Dylan, Jameson,
Camden, Kellen, Eva, Natilie, Wyatt, Jake and Bailey; great-grandson, Lathan; step-father,
Richard Newland, of Detour, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends who will all miss
him greatly.
Audie was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Potter and Kathleen Newland.
Visitation will be held at the Fundamental Baptist Church in Kinross on Friday, December 22,
2023, from 12 noon – 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tim Rader officiating.
The Final resting place will be at Cottle Cemetery, Pickford.
