Obituaries

Barbara Ann (Conner) Beck, age 86, of Eckerman, Michigan, died at her home on April 5, 2023. She was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, on September 30, 1936, to John Weldon and Sadonna Mary (Zook) Conner.

Barbara grew up in Washington and attended Washington County Schools. She worked at a feed mill and managed a grain elevator. She attended a Votech School for a secretarial degree. She became a Christian at 36 years old and it changed her life. She adopted her son, Brian, in 1979. She worked numerous jobs as a statistician secretary. They moved to Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania, and they built a farm in 1971. She left the farm in 1989, and moved to West Virginia, working for the Teen Challenge. She also worked in several churches as a secretary. She met Ronald M. Beck and they married in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1965.

Barbara was a Christian and her devotion to Christ was unmatched in many peoples’ eyes and mind.

Barbara loved reading her bible, going to fine restaurants, attending church, playing board games, and attending church activities. She also loved watching Seinfeld, murder mysteries, psychological thrillers, and old movies while drinking her favorite beverage, Coca-Cola.

Barbara is survived by her ex-husband, Ronald M. Beck; son, Brian D. Beck of Eckerman; and cousin, John Henry Porter of Mesa, Arizona.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sadonna.

A graveside service and burial will take place at Coburn Cemetery in Chippewa Township, Michigan, date, and time to be determined.
