Obituaries

Barbara Jane Mornson, of Westbrook, Maine, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on September 9th, 2024, in Westbrook, Maine. She was born April 24th, 1949, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to William (Bill) Louis and Elizabeth (Betty) Jane (nee DeMolen) Mornson.

Barb graduated in 1967 from Loretto Catholic Central High School in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She worked for many years at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in South Portland, Maine.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Joseph (Laura) Libby of Hingham, Massachusetts and Bradd Eldon Libby of Fredrikstad, Norway; sisters, Debra (Gary) Linson of Portland, Maine and Kimberley Mornson of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Barb is also survived by three grandchildren, Jack William Libby and Grace Victoria Libby, of Hingham, Massachusetts and Johan Eldon Libby, of Fredrikstad, Norway; nephew, Jason (Stephanie) Landreville, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; nieces, Tammi (Shawn) Freehling, of Granger, Indiana, Kristine (Lucius) Leclerc, of Brimley, Michigan, Caryn (Shannon Allen) Linson, of Durham, Maine; great nieces and great nephews, Shannon, Rachael, and Nicholas Landreville, Sylvia Leclerc, Miriam Freehling, and Roger Allen; and numerous cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Larry Daniel Mornson and Mark Joseph Mornson; grandparents G. A. “Art” DeMolen and Elizabeth “Liz” O. (nee Deichelbor) DeMolen, all of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Alvina (nee LaBelle) Buchholtz, of Escanaba, Michigan.

A graveside blessing is to be held at Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
