Betty Mae Faunt, age 93, died on January 24, 2025, in Rudyard, Michigan. She was born on
October 7, 1931, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Albert and Marguerite (Gariepy) McCoy.

Betty grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and attended Sault High School. She met Jerome Jackson in
1948, and they were married a year later, in 1949. They began their family, and Betty was a
homemaker until 1975, when she began working as a factory worker for Soo Plastics for a few
years. Later in life, she met John Faunt and they were married in 1978. They moved to the country just outside of Sault Ste. Marie.

Betty was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed watching western movies and game
shows. Her favorite game to play was bingo. She loved to go camping and fishing with the
family at Monocle Lake Campground. Betty was also one to enjoy long rides with John and she
loved watching boats go by or watching birds. Betty was also found to be crafty with crocheting.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna (Brad) Hall of Rudyard; sons, Duane (Missy) Jackson
of Alpena, Michigan, Leon Jackson of Sault Ste. Marie, and Jerry (Linda) Jackson of Muskegon,
Michigan; grandchildren, Eddie Salas, Annette Salas, Jerome Salas, Yvette Salas, Gene (Lisa)
Chambers, Lisa (Chad) Chambers, Michelle Ingersol, Amy Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Ashley
Jackson, Tonya Forster, James Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Michael Jackson, Falisha Burke,
Gerald Jackson, Jessica Jackson, Brittni (Maggie) Hansen, Brianna Hall, Bradley Hall II,
Marguerite Jackson, Serina Jackson, and Michael Angle; brother, Leon McCoy of Sault Ste.
Marie; and sister, Linda Trimal of Independence, Montana.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Jackson; second husband, John Faunt;
daughters, Diania Beckwith and Marsha Waybrant; sons, Dave Jackson, Jim Jackson, Jerome
“Mike” Jackson; brother, James McCoy; and sister, Ava Shampine.

Funeral Services will be held at the Family Life Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste.
Marie, Michigan. Visitation is on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The
Funeral Service is on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM with
Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.

Betty’s final resting place will be Pine Grove Cemetery.
