Obituaries

Brian Loren Cleary, age 40, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died at his home on January 16, 2024.
He was born on April 14, 1983, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, to Charles Stewart Cleary
and Lori Gale (Brock) Bogart.

Brian grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and graduated from Charlevoix High School in Charlevoix,
Michigan, with the class of 2002. He attended Michigan State University for a few years before
moving to Virginia to work as a mechanic. He stayed there for twelve years before moving back
to Sault Ste. Marie and started working as a carpenter in construction for Cleary Rentals and
raising his children.

Brian loved keeping busy and enjoyed building computers, fixing electronics, snowmobiling,
working on small motors and was an avid video gamer!

Brian is survived by his parents, Charles and Lori Cleary; significant other, Amanda Davis; sons,
Phoenix Cleary of Sault Ste. Marie and Maddox Cleary of Sault Ste. Marie; brothers, Nathan
Cleary of Sault Ste. Marie and Matthew McDonell of Lansing, Michigan, Thomas Sabourin of
Traverse City, Michigan, Shawn Sabourin of Traverse City, Michigan; and sisters, Elizabeth
McDonell of Dallas, Texas, and Monica McDonell of Bay City, Michigan, Chelsea Palazzi of
Soo Ontario, Canada.

Brian was preceded in death by his stepmother, Kristine McDonell; and grandfathers, John
Cleary, and Lauren Sheperd.

Memorial Contributions can be made out to the 50 th Circuit Court Drug Court, 319 Court St,
Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan 49783.

A Gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Family
Life Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan 49783.
