Bruce Wilfred Mattson, age 72, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on February 7, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1952, to Glenn and Donna (Hazen) Mattson.

Bruce grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School with the class of 1970. After graduation he joined the United States Coast Guard until his honorable discharge in 1976. This is when he started his family in Sault Ste. Marie. They later moved to Manistique where he worked on commercial fishing boats. From there the family relocated to Muskegon and Bruce was employed with Canonie Transportation. Bruce eventually relocated back to Sault Ste. Marie and Sugar Island area working for MCM Marine until 2010 when he retired.

Bruce was a member of the NRA, and The Moose Lodge on Sugar Island. He liked to be outdoors spending his time doing photography and fishing. Bruce was always tinkering with something whether it be in the garage or in his basement.

Bruce is survived by his oldest daughter, Jennifer Morgan; son, Craig (Kendra) Mattson; and youngest daughter, Stacie (David) Chambers. Five grandchildren; sister, Karol (Tim) Haring; and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was proceeded in death by his parents, Glen and Donna; sister Karyn Mattson; and two grandchildren.
