Obituaries

Cory Matthew Levan, age 54, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on January 13, 2024, at
MyMichigan-Sault Medical Center. He was born on March 21, 1969, in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to Kenneth Robert and Marilyn Elizabeth (Sauro) Levan.

Cory grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and graduated from Sault High School. He worked at Little
Caesars for several years before changing to his lifelong career as a gas attendant at Super Flite.
Cory was well known for his great service and enjoyed both being around and helping people.
Cory loved to spend time with his niece, nephews, and great nephews. He had many friends and
enjoyed going fishing, hunting, and playing hockey and baseball with them. He especially loved
turkey hunting as well. Cory enjoyed watching Toronto Maple Leaf hockey as well as football on
tv with his friends and family. He was a collector of comic books and old tins as well.

Cory is survived by his sisters, Barb (Jon) Levan-Rogers, Jennifer (Mike) Klier, Nicole Matheny;
niece, Chelsey (Jarod) Zeeryp; nephews, Joshua (KayeLani) Levan, Darren (Hannah) Lehre,
Dylan Klier, Logan Matheny, Taylor Matheny, Carter Matheny; great nieces and nephews,
RaeLynn and Kolten Levan, and Iris and Maverick Lehre.

Cory was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marilyn Levan.

Cory’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dave Atkinson for always being there
for Cory in the good and bad times throughout his life. They would also like to thank Medilodge
staff members Carmela Rogers, Cory Garland and all the certified nursing assistants for taking
care of Cory through the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2024.
