David Lingle Munro, 68, of Sault Sainte Marie, passed away on April 1st, 2023, at Evergreen Living Center. David was born on April 20th, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Robert Munro and Barbara Munro.

David graduated from Homestead High school in Mequon, Wisconsin, in 1972, and went on to work for over 20 years as the founder and owner of Systems Installations Co. (SIC) where he built and led teams and completed projects across the Midwest and East Coast.

David was known for his hard work, his integrity, and his kind heart. He enjoyed spending time caring for others, in particular cooking and entertaining. He loved to share his culinary creations with family and friends, and his warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel at home. David also enjoyed spending time on his boat, the Edith B. Lansing, as well as relaxing at the cabin on Neebish Island, reading books, watching films and television shows, and listening to music. The only thing better than a classic movie was a Detroit Tigers ballgame. He had a talent for making people feel good about themselves. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke or story to tell.

David is survived by his mother Barbara Munro, the mother of his children Jane Munro, his children David (Lisa) Munro, Garrett (Susan Fisk) Munro, and Louisa (Cory Holbrook) Munro, his grandchildren David Munro and Bruce Munro, step-grandchildren Cole and Donovan Sanderson, sisters Meredith (David Ehrlich) Munro, and Melissa (John) Fuller. He will also be deeply missed by many friends and colleagues.

David was preceded in death by his father Robert Munro, his brothers Thomas Munro and Doug Munro, and his lifelong close friend Brian Peterson.

A wake will be held from 12:00PM to 4:00PM on Saturday August 15th, 2023, at Eastern Avenue Hall 506 Eastern Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
