Obituary For Debra Louise Palma

Debra Louise Palma, also known as Debbie, was born on October 5, 1950, in Los Angeles, California. She passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 73 in Rudyard, Michigan.

Debra was a beloved individual known for her social nature, great sense of humor, and love for making others laugh. She cherished spending time with friends and family, often giving them endearing nicknames.

In her career, Debra ran her own arts/craft/ceramics store, "Designs By You," in Kincheloe during the 1980s. She also dedicated several decades to working as the pricing/scanning coordinator for the Kinross Co-operative Company.

Outside of work, Debra enjoyed a variety of hobbies including reading, crafting, home decorating, attending movies and concerts, traveling, playing card games and trivia, and engaging in online gaming. She was an animal lover, particularly fond of Brittany Spaniels, and loved cooking for her loved ones.

Debra is survived by her daughter Rhonda (Mike) Brown, sons John Garcia and Eric Garcia, as well as brothers Steven (Janet) Sims, Gilbert (Trudy) Sims, and Ritchie (Gloria) Sims. She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis I. Peterson, father Gilbert C. Sims, husband Lawrence (Larry) Palma, and sister Linda (Ron) Hudson. Debra is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

No funeral service is planned at this time. A celebration of life gathering will be arranged later this year.

Debra's sons wish to express special thanks to Sheila and Ray Schuh for their friendship, care and love during their mother's illness.
