Obituaries

Debra Marie “Deb” Alcorn, age 68, of Dafter, Michigan passed away on April 19. 2023 at My Michigan Medical Center-Sault.

Deb was born on September 24, 1954, to the late Edward and Helen (Williams) Wittmuss. She attended Bridgeport High School. Years ago, she worked at KMC and for Norris Contracting as a flag person. She was a very strong willed little Irish mom who knew how to keep everyone in check while still being compassionate and loving. Deb enjoyed fishing, hunting, and planting flowers. She could often be found transplanting flowers and trees to make her yard beautiful. She loved taking care of many different animals. She bred shih tzus and was extremely cautious about who could adopt them. She was a passionate Detroit Tigers fan. She was greatly loved by her community. She will be sadly missed by her husband.

Debra is survived by her husband: Donald whom she married on July 7, 1973, at the Brimley Baptist Church; three children: D.J. (Allyssa) Alcorn of Kingsley, MI, Andy Alcorn of Bay Mills, MI, and Barbie (Ed McKelvie) Bailey of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and five grandchildren: Donny, Danny, Betsy, Jaden and Arlin. Deb is also survived by her brother: Bob Wittmuss of Bridgeport, MI, and three sisters: Carol Wittmuss of Saginaw, MI, Judy Bruske of Big Rapids, MI, and Kathy Wittmuss of Bridgeport, MI.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother: Gladys Wittmuss; a daughter: Carey Lynn Alcorn; a sister: Pat Wittmuss; a brother: Edward Wittmuss; aunt: Joan Wittmuss.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to help with funeral expenses.
