Obituaries

Dolores Stella Iser, age 90, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, died on December 2, 2023, at her home in Sault Ste Marie. She was born on September 15, 1933, in Flint, Michigan, to William and Stella (Wolfe) Jones.

Dolores grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan and graduated from Central High school. She met Paul in Maryland, while visiting family. They married June 23, 1951, where they began raising their family, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, they had two daughters.

Dolores began working at GM Fisher Body on the assembly line for thirty years.

Upon retiring, Dolores and Paul moved to Sault Ste. Marie, where they enjoyed their retirement and began traveling to Florida in the winter months for ten years.

Dolores attended the Donaldson Presbyterian Church, in Bruce Township, Michigan

Dolores enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with her cat, Gypsy.

Dolores is survived by her daughters, Paula (Gordon) Thompson of Mt. Morris, Deborah (Steve) Winberg of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) McGrath, Kristen Thompson, and Michael Hansknecht; sister, Mary Ann Iser of Mancelona, Michigan and many nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Iser; parents, William, and Stella Jones; mother and father-in-law, Marshall and Eliza Mae Iser; brothers-in-law, Richard Iser, Jerry (Shirley) Iser, and Earl (Judy) Iser; and sister-in-law, Isabelle Gilliam.

According to Dolores’s wishes, no services will be held.
