Donald Wayne Gregg, age 76, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on September 21, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie to Orville and Violet (Ellis) Gregg.

Don was known for his easy smile and kindness. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed harvesting and processing firewood. In any given season, he could be found hunting, fishing, or snowshoeing. Countless hours were spent raising, training, and lovingly caring for his Beagle buddies. Don was the youngest of nine siblings.

He was called Don, Donnie, Dad, PaPa, Uncle Donnie, Buddy, Uncle Donkey, Pops or Slick. We know he will be greatly missed by all.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen Louise (Byron) Gregg; daughter, Barbara Jean Gregg and son-in-law, Michael Green; son, Matthew Byron (Lindsey) Gregg; grandsons, Chance Byron and Elliott Gary Gregg; sisters, Norma (Warren) McRorie of Sault Ste. Marie, Dianne Wotton of Virginia, Lori Ann (Jon) Hall; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, especially Andrew Hall, Megan Hall and Tom Wotton.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Violet; siblings, Norman (Edith) Gregg, Dorothy Gregg, Beulah (Bob) Colby, Nancy Gregg, Lucille (Bill) Payment and Harold Gregg; father and mother-in-law, William and Mary Byron; brothers-in-law, George Wotton and Paul Byron.

As poet Thomas Campbell wrote “To Live In Hearts We Leave Behind, Is Not To Die.”

No services will be held at this time.
