Obituary For Gary Dwayne Fox

Gary Dwayne Fox, age 80, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, died on August 3, 2024, at his native home on Sugar Island, Michigan. He was born on February 25, 1944, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Clifford Irvin and Lillian Marie (Maki) Fox.

Gary grew up and went to school on Sugar Island. After school, he enlisted into the United States Army and served in stationed in Arkansas and Germany. Upon returning home, he became a logger as well as a dredge operator. Gary was known for his wit, joking around, having a Busch Light, and enjoying life to the fullest.

Gary was a member of the American #3 Legion, and the VFW Post 3676 of Sault Ste. Marie.

Gary enjoyed being around family and friends and doing outdoor activities such as mushroom hunting, trapping and especially mowing the lawn. He was an animal lover and loved his pets.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Sarah Marie Fox and Carrie Fox of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Cody Fox, Liliana Gutierret, Peter Eruotor, Braylan Eruotor; great-grandchildren, Hendric Fox and Keaston Fox; and brother, Clay “Tom” Fox.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lillian; and brothers, Clyde “Skip” Fox and Guy Fox.

Per Gary’s wishes there will be no services. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
