George Robert Flygare, age 69, died at his home in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on March 27, 2025. He was born on February 12, 1956, in L’Anse, Michigan, to Melby and Ethel (Nettell) Flygare.

George was a lifelong resident of Trenary, Michigan. He was a man of many talents, known for his versatility and skill as a jack of all trades. He worked in the forest, practiced carpentry, and was always ready to lend a hand with any task.

George spent much of his time mushroom hunting, fishing, and hunting. His passion for these activities was only matched by his enjoyment of playing in a pool league, where he made lasting friendships. He will be remembered fondly by his many friends, especially his special buddy Roscoe.

George is survived by his daughter, Linsey Flygare of Sault Ste. Marie; son, Lucas Flygare of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchild, Maxyn Nolan; and sisters, Ruth (Joel) Hamill of South Whitley, Indiana, Gail (Darryl) Bush of Sault Ste. Marie, and Tracy Flygare of South Whitley.

George was preceded in death by his son, George Jr.; and parents, Melby and Ethel.

George’s final resting place will be at Trenary Cemetery, in Trenary, Michigan.
