Obituary For Herbert James Gordon III

It is with deep sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Herbert James Gordon III, on
December 21,2024, at the age of 36. He was born on January 22, 1988, to Herbert James II and
Lillian Gordon of Rudyard MI.

Herb “Herbie” was a 2006 Rudyard Area Schools graduate. He immediately began working right
after school to build his future. Herbie worked for Grahams Trucking where he gained valuable
skills and connections. His true desire was to become a mason following in his grandfather and
father’s footsteps. He wanted nothing more than joining these two in their concrete work. Herb
worked for years with well-known contractors including Arbic construction, JD Stone, Maleport
Construction, and Gordon Construction & Masonry where his father and he were joined with
cousin Pat Gordon. He then went on to create his own business with his father HG III Masonry.
Together the two created marks on every project they touched. The bond between father and son
was that of pride, respecting each other's work and sharing their crafts together. This brought his
father so much joy and happiness.

Herbie was not just a hard worker. He was a man of many passions. outside of work he was a man of the outdoors where he found peace. Whether it was cooking, camping, three-wheeling, hunting, trapping, or fishing by the river he found solace in nature.

Herbie found great joy in sharing his life with girlfriend Liz Johnson and her girls Jules and his
little Bella Louise. They had truly made him whole. He loved experiencing his life's pleasures with them by his side. Herbie was a loving son, uncle, brother, and friend. It was his family and friends that made his life worth living. He cherished every moment spent with them and had a heart full of generosity. Herbie had an incredible quick wit to him and a sense of
humor that brightened every room he entered. His laugh will be missed most. It brought him
great pride being an uncle to his sisters, girls Lauren and Myra. The three had no greater protector on this earth.

Herbie's unexpected passing leaves a deep hole in our hearts no one will ever be able to fill.

Herbie leaves behind his parents, Herbert and Lillian Gordon; sister, Barb Gordon; two nieces, Lauren and Myra; girlfriend, Liz Johnson; and girls, Jules and Bella Louise. He also leaves behind his dog, Clyde; many close friends; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Herb is preceded in death by his grandparents, Russel and Barbara Curtis, Herbert and Annabelle
Gordon; along with two uncles, Mike Gordon and Art Curtis.

Though Herbies time on this earth was much to brief his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he gave and the memories we hold so dear. Herbie spent his time with us never thinking of himself but making sure all around him were ok. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and his spirit will continue to guide us in our hardest of days.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 12:00 Noon till 2:00 PM, at Family Life Funeral home 24549 S M-129 Pickford MI. where there will be refreshments and dessert.

The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Mr. Rod Case officiating. Burial to follow at North Rudyard Cemetery on the corner of Tilson and Thompson Rd., in Rudyard, Michigan.

Please dress casually as Herbie would want it that way.
