Obituary For James Francis Cryderman
James Francis Cryderman, age 83, of Cedarville, Michigan, died at the Pennington Home in Pickford, Michigan, on March 27, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Basil and Mary (McLean) Cryderman.
James grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and attended a local schoolhouse. He worked as a cement finisher before he started working on Mackinac Island, Michigan, as a blacksmith, for forty-two years. He met the love of his life, Carol Ann Bennett, and they married on December 9, 1961, and started their beautiful family.
James was a volunteer firefighter for fifty years in Cedarville.
James was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed pulling horses and ponies, hunting. Tending to his hobby farm, caring for his cows, chickens, horses, ponies, and turkeys. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an amazing dancer, especially with Carol, where it almost seemed like they would “float on the dance floor.”
James is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Ann Cryderman of Cedarville, and Mary (John) Malkowski of Cedarville; grandchildren, Cori (Tim) McKee, Justin Davenport, and Chelsea (Brent) Aikens; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Connor, and Adele McKee, Wyatt Davenport, Natalie, Iris, and Haven Aikens; and siblings, Paul (Shirley) Cryderman; sisters-in-law, Helen Spencer, Irene Cryderman, Alice Bennett, Merrial Kasper, and Rhoda (Bill) Beacom; and brother-in-law Ralph (Karen) Bennett.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Mary; mother-in-law, Eva Bennett; siblings, Bill (Pat) Cryderman, Newt (Julie) Cryderman, Joseph Cryderman, Sadie (Ken) Sibbald, Dorothy (Ed) Hoffman and Betty (John) Tominac; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Nancy) Bennett, Clayton Bennett, and Gerald Bennett; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Coveyou, and Geraldine (Greg) LaPrairre.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on April 8, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Family Life Funeral Homes in Pickford, Michigan. The Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM with a light luncheon after the service at Jim and Carol's home, 2004 E Swede Rd., Cedarville, MI 49719.
Final Resting Place will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
