James William Stevenson IV, age 73, of Pickford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August
1, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on June 2,
1951, in Sault Ste. Marie, to James William III and Donna V. (Eveleigh) Stevenson.

James grew up in Indiana. After graduating, he worked in construction, mastering the crafts of
instrumentation and electrical arts. At Freeport-McMoRan, he mentored several students for their
journeyman ship. He married Kayren June Whipple on June 30, 1999. He resided in Arizona and
retired from Freeport-McMoRan in January of 2021, and they moved to Michigan in June of
2022.

James loved spending time in nature and enjoyed barbequing for their Family Sunday Dinners,
watching all types of automobile racing, and spending time with his granddaughter. He enjoyed
fishing with his brothers, gardening and loved Sunday afternoon drives.
James is survived by his wife, Kayren; daughter, Amanda Harris of Tempe, Arizona; son, Joshua
Harris of Taylor, Arizona; grandchild, Navaeh Harris; sister, Sheila (Jim “Berd”) Bergdoll of Pickford, and M. Jill (Mike) Roddy of Voorhees, New Jersey; and parents, James and Donna. Along with aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss him dearly.

James was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel V. Stevenson and Martin B. Stevenson.

Cremation has taken place per James’ wishes, and a Family Celebration will be held at a later
date.
