Jane Ellen Bishop, age 66, of Pickford, Michigan, died on March 25, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on December 28, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to John and Julia (Kort) Kronemeyer.

At the young age of four, Jane’s family moved from Hudsonville, Michigan, to Pickford, in 1963, where she grew up and graduated from Pickford High School with the class of 1977. She furthered her education at Grand Rapids Junior College, where she earned an associate’s degree and License Practical Nurses Certification. After completing her studies, she returned to Pickford and met the love of her life, David John Bishop. They married on June 2, 1979, at the Pickford Methodist Church. Jane dedicated much of her career to caring for others. She began working at War Memorial Hospital in 1979, as the emergency room nurse, before beginning her career at the Chippewa County Health Department, where she was a home care LPN, for over ten years. Jane later returned to MyMichigan Health Center for several years, where she continued to give compassionate care until her retirement in 2023.

Throughout her life, Jane was deeply involved in her community. She was president of the Conservation District for twenty years, both local and state chapters. Jane was a 4-H Leader of the Pickford Livestock Club for many years. She, additionally worked as an Avon sales representative for fifteen years and was a proud member of the Farm Bureau.

Jane’s passions extended beyond her work. She loved her horses, enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and spent countless hours gardening. Jane was also a talented artist, finding joy in arts and crafts such as coloring, drawing, crocheting, genealogy, scrapbooking, and quilting. She cherished traveling anywhere, especially to see her grandchildren and had a deep appreciation for nature, especially waterfalls and lighthouses. A true lover of thrifting, Jane found beauty in the most unexpected places. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Jane devoted her life to caring for others and every who knew her was a part of her family.

Jane is survived by her children, John David “JD” (Erika) Bishop of Pickford, Amanda (Luke) Munger of Cheboygan, Michigan, Ashley (Matt) Bailey of Schoolcraft, Michigan, Jesse (Shelli) Bishop of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Judith “Judy” (Paul) Holmes of Mackinac Island, Michigan; grandchildren, Isabella Bishop, Madison Bishop, Jaylin Bishop, Luke Munger, Mark Munger, Channing Bishop, Charlie Bishop, Taylor Bishop, David Bailey, Andrea Bailey, and Addison Holmes; mother, Julia Ellen Kronemeyer of Pickford; sisters, Joyce (Michael) Ross of Rudyard, Michigan, and Joanne (Karl) Shaffer of Brimley, Michigan; brothers, Jack Kronemeyer of Bay Mills, Michigan, James (Toni) Kronemeyer of Pickford, Jason (Amy) Kronemeyer of Barbeau, Michigan; aunt and uncle, Eugene and Virginia Kort of Wyoming, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, David Bishop; father, John Kronemeyer; grandson, Camden Holmes, sister, Judy Kronemeyer; sister-in-law, Rachel Kronemeyer; father & mother-in-law, John and Geraldine Bishop.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Family Life Funeral Homes-Pickford, 24549 S. M-129, Pickford. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Jane’s Final Resting Place will be at Fairview Cemetery, in Pickford, Michigan.
