Katherine “Kathy” Ann (Eagle) Albrough, age 73, of Brimley, Michigan, went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2024. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on January 22, 1951, to Walter Burton Eagle Jr. and Verna Irene (Bumstead) Eagle. Kathy was the oldest of five siblings and spent most of her childhood growing up on the Eagle family farm on Ridge Road in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Kathy graduated from Sault Area Schools in Sault Ste. Marie. After graduation, she went to work as a receptionist at Soo Motors where she met her husband and the love of her life Gerald (Jerry) Albrough who worked at Soo Motors as a mechanic. Kathy and Jerry were married on July 11, 1970, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Kathy began attending Lake Superior State University until the couple were blessed with two sons and a daughter, John, Chris, and Jenny. Kathy devoted herself to full-time motherhood until the children were all in elementary school when she decided to return to LSSU to finish her master’s in business- accounting. Upon graduation, Kathy was delighted to become an accountant for LSSU. Toward the end of her career, she also enjoyed being an adjunct professor, teaching accounting. Kathy valued education and enjoyed helping many students navigate the financial aid process. She was also instrumental in helping Brimley students through activities like substitute teaching, volunteering for the book fair, serving on the Brimley Education Foundation Board, and helping students obtain college scholarships. Kathy has always been very active in her church, teaching Sunday School for decades, teaching Vacation Bible School for many summers, and serving on the church board.

Kathy enjoyed many activities and hobbies, such as quilting, sewing, knitting, gardening, camping, and traveling. However, the true lights of her life the past twenty-one years have been her seven grandchildren. Veronika and Kyle Albrough (John), Natalie, Savannah, and Garrett Albrough (Chris), and Preston and Addison Burley (Jenny). Kathy enjoyed teaching her grandchildren from a very young age all about her loves, especially baking, gardening, canning, reading books, and of course sewing, quilting and knitting. However, she could be found wherever her grandchildren were, supporting them in whatever they loved to do. Kathy attended many athletic events, music recitals, dance recitals, awards ceremonies, and church activities all in devoted support of her grandchildren, and she loved every minute of them all!

Kathy is survived by her husband, Jerry Albrough; children, John Albrough, Chris (Cindy) Albrough, and Jenny (Russell) Burley; grandchildren, Veronika, Kyle, Natalie, Savannah, Garrett, Preston, and Addison; siblings, Irene (Steve) Randall, Glenn Eagle, Jennie Lorendo, and Waneta (Ed) Parmenter; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Verna; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gerald and Lucille Albrough; brother-in-law, Don Lorendo; sister-in-law, Peggy Eagle.

Services will be held at First Congregational Church in Brimley on July 19, 2024, with Visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Funeral Procession to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. After the cemetery, a luncheon will be served at the First Congregational Church in Brimley.
