Obituary For Lendon Thomas Hedger

Lendon Thomas Hedger, age 99, died November 9, 2023, at his home in Detour Village, Michigan. He was born June 7, 1924, in Flint, Michigan to Lloyd Charles and Ruby Ethel (Thomas) Hedger.

After graduating from Northern High School in Flint he served in India with the 444th Bomb Group Army Air Force 20th Air Force during World War II. After the war he attended GMI and was an electrician at Buick for 34 years. He married Erdeen Glenna Visnaw April 12, 1947, in Flint. Upon retirement they moved to Detour Village where he built their retirement home. They traveled extensively to all 50 states both while their children were young and after retirement.

Lendon is survived by his children, Doreen (Lee) Evans of Holt, Michigan, Dennis (Sue) Hedger of Detour Village, Linda Hutchins of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Debra LaBelle Kmiec of Detour Village, and Dale (Mary) Hedger of Swartz Creek, Michigan; grandchildren, Kristen Nice, Andrew (Paige) Hedger, Megan Hedger, Stacey Hutchins, Kyle Hutchins, Jason LaBelle, Nicholas Hedger, Alexander (Cassandra) Hedger and Daniel Hedger; half-brother, Chester (Bonnie) Little of York Town, Indiana; great grandchildren, Alison, Catherine, Emily, Faith, Isaiah, and Rowan; great great grandchildren, Kamden, Cooper, Henry, Bella, and many nieces and nephews.

Lendon is preceded in death by his wife, Erdeen Glenna (Visnaw) Hedger; parents, Charles and Ruby (Thomas) Hedger; brother, Donald Lloyd Hedger; half-sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and Shirley Jean Harger; half-brothers, Richard Lee Hedger, Leo Dean Hedger, and Lloyd James Hedger; great grandson, Christopher Space; and sons in law, Joseph Kmiec and Kevin Hutchins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 19, 2023, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Galer Funeral Homes, 24549 S. M-129 Pickford, Michigan 49774. The Funeral Service will be Monday November 20, 2023, at 1:00pm at Galer Funeral Home with Rev. Jeri Baker officiating.

Final resting place will be Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville, Michigan.
