Obituary For Linda Lou Radford

Linda Lou (Schimmelpenny) Radford, age 70, of Kincheloe, Michigan, sadly passed away in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on December 3rd, 2024. Linda was born on February 21st, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie to John "Jack" H. and Reva T. (Litzner) Schimmelpenny. She grew up in Moran, Michigan, and graduated from Rudyard High School. She met Larry Jack Radford and they married on September 26th, 1974. She spent most of her life in Moran, and raised her two children, Larry Jack II ("Jack") and Jennifer Jill, there as well. In 2012 she moved to Kincheloe to live with her daughter.

Linda's earliest job was at her sister and brother-in-law's store, Bradford's House Grocery, in Moran. She worked for several years in the office at the Castle Rock Campark in St. Ignace, and she also acted as the substitute librarian for the Brevort Township Library in Moran for many years. She spent her last working years at Community Action Agency in St. Ignace, doing work in the kitchen and Early Head Start.

Linda absolutely loved nature and being outdoors, especially anywhere out in the woods, and had a passionate love for all animals. She loved books and reading, gardening, sunflowers, babies, cats, mice, gnomes, candles, watching all the political goings-on on the news, coffee, and Diet Coke. She always made sure that birthdays and holidays were memorable for her children. Linda was a kind and generous person who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Reva Schimmelpenny; her sisters, Karen Ellison and Joan Bradford; her brother, John D. Schimmelpenny; her husband, Larry Radford; her son, Jack Radford; and her cat companion, Sammi.

Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Jill (Radford) and Joseph Ashetzie; several cousins, nieces and nephews (who fondly remember her as their "Aunt DoDo"); great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven beloved cats that she called her "grandbabies", Tiggie, Little Miss, Beanie, Wilbur, Tallulah, Arlo and Penelope Louise.

Per Linda's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. Her remains will be cremated and spread at the location of her request in fall of 2025.
