Margaret Esther Irene (Margie) Hauxwell, age 72, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18, 2024, at her home.

Margie was born February 7, 1952, in Newberry, Michigan, to John J. And Esther Deloria. She was a 1971 graduate of Newberry High School. After graduation she moved to Indiana, where she was a singer and keyboardist with Sunrise, an all-girl rock band. Sunrise was one of the favorite memories of her young life.

Margie enjoyed bowling, reading books, as well as boat watching and barbecues at Rotary Park. She was a dedicated Tigers and Red Wings fan, and rarely missed a game. She was an excellent baker, and a master of casseroles. Another of her favorite memories later in life was being co-owner and operator of up north books, with her husband Mike, which they ran in the Sault for 11 years until they retired.

Margie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael; daughters Nicole (Nikki Olivier) (Andrew) Grey of Boise, Idaho; Desiree (Desi Olivier) (Steve) Brey of Okemos, Michigan; step-sons, Michael C Hauxwell of East Pointe, Michigan; and Sean J Hauxwell of Sault Ste Marie; and grandson Michael C. Hauxwell Junior, who is serving his country in the United States Army. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and will miss her dearly.

Margie was predeceased by her parents; sister, Betty Parrish; and brother, John Deloria Junior.

Per her family's request, there will be no services at this time.

A Celebration Of Life will be held in Margie's honor in the summer.
