Obituaries

Phyllis Ann Halderman, age 84, of Eckerman, Michigan, died on August 24, 2024, at McLaren
Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. She was born May 7, 1940, in Fentress
Allart, Tennessee, to Amos Andrew and Hallie Marie (Asberry) Brown.

Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother. After the children were raised, she obtained an
associate’s degree in business. She worked for several companies, in the parts and inventory
control department. Phyllis retired in September of 1989.

Phyllis loved cooking for family and friends and feeding and watching the abundance of wildlife.
She also enjoyed playing Trivia and reading.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jon Dale Halderman; daughter, Penelope of Ormond Beach,
Florida; sons, Daniel of San Antonio, Texas, Ron of Lafayette, Indiana, Tim of Sault Ste. Marie,
Michigan, Rick of Spring Field, Ohio; twenty-one grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and
two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Della Fagg of Ludlow Falls, Ohio, Mattie Lawrence of
Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Ned Brown of Sarasota, Florida, Larry Brown of Fort Myers, Florida,
and Lynn Brown of Vandalia, Ohio.
Phyllis was preceded by her daughter, Monica; sons, Larry and James; and parents, Amos and
Hallie.

There will be a private Celebration of Life held later this fall.
