Obituary For Richard James Faust

Richard James Faust, age 72, of Halifax, PA died February 13, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on August 14, 1951 in Coaldale, PA the son of the late John W. Faust and Emily (Kessler) Faust. He served in the US Air Force from 1969-1973 during the Vietnam War. After serving oversees, he was stationed in Kinross, Michigan. It was during this time that he met his wife Deborah J Atkinson (Debbie). They were married for 48 years.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, his daughter Tricia and her husband Adam Farner of Halifax, grandchildren Landon, Noah, and Morgan, and his four-legged girls Gracie, Bella & Abby. He is also survived by his three sisters Cynthia McGill and her husband Rick, Gloria Dudash and her husband Steve, and Diane Faust, and his wife's siblings Steve and his wife Megan Atkinson, Arlene and her husband Rod MacPherson, and Dave Atkinson and his fiancée Melissa, and many nieces and nephews.

Rick spent most of his career working at the Kinross Correctional Facility. He retired as an Assistant Deputy Warden for the Michigan Department of Corrections. After a very short retirement, he enjoyed a second career as a boat mechanic at R & R Marine in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

He very much enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing and did so as often as possible. He looked forward to spending his winter's in Halifax, PA, with his daughter and grandchildren and his summers in Sault Ste Marie, MI, golfing with friends and playing board games with family.

Rick would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone who needed it. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, awesome brother, and a very good friend to many. He will be missed beyond measure as he is very, very loved.

The family will receive Pennsylvania friends on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Halifax Community Church, 105 Wind Hill Dr., Halifax, from 10:30 AM-11:00 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM.

A second service will be held for his Michigan friends and family in May, and the obituary will be updated when those details are finalized.
