Obituary For Richard Raymond Lovegrove
Richard Raymond Lovegrove, age 71, of Rudyard, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2025. He was born on May 8, 1953, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Raymond and Elaine (Burgess) Lovegrove.
Richard spent his childhood in Ozark, Michigan, and was a 1971 graduate of Rudyard High School. He was known for his unwavering love for his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he dedicated his life to providing for and spending time with those he loved. He had a passion for watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He cherished family time while camping, hunting, fishing, and watching ball games. Richard retired in 2009 from the Michigan Department of Corrections where he was recognized with the State of Michigan Valor Award.
Richard had placed his faith in Jesus Christ for eternal life and was a longtime member of the Fundamental Baptist Church in Kinross, Michigan.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Anita (Mayer) Lovegrove of 52 years; children, Jennifer (Devon) Dosson, of Lodge Grass, Montana, Jestin (Melissa) Lovegrove, of Breckenridge, Michigan, Jamie (Len) Becker, of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Jodie (Kevin) Postma of Rudyard;sisters, Janice Bigelow, and Donna Hartog; brother, Larry Lovegrove. He was a beloved grandpa to Dillon (Brenna) Dosson, Dakota (Abby) Dosson, Dane (Kayla) Dosson, Dalton Dosson, Marissa (Art) Kachkovskiy, Jessa (Taylor) Dewald, Brianna Lovegrove, Ellie Becker, Emma Becker, and Lydia Becker, Paige Postma, Meagan Postma, and Kyle Postma, and loving great-grandpa to Ayla Lovegrove, Sophie and William Dosson, Mila Kachkovskiy, Leroy Dewald, and Brynessa Dosson.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Phillip and Kenneth Lovegrove.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Fundamental Baptist Church, 3255 M-80, Kinross Township, MI 49752, from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. The Memorial Service will start immediately at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fundamental Baptist Church’s Building Fund of Kinross Township.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of care and support during this difficult time. Richard’s legacy of love and his faith in Jesus Christ will live on in the hearts of his family and those who knew him.
