Obituaries

Ronald Brian Thurston, age 53, passed on Tuesday February 11th, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Ron was born on July 23, 1971, in Escanaba, Michigan.

Ron grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan, and moved to Brimley, Michigan, as a young adult. There, he enjoyed the simpler things in life and enjoyed his time with his cousin, and dear friend, Roger. He enjoyed “ducking” cars he thought deserved one with his special friend Michelle Blankenship. He felt that it shouldn’t be just jeeps that get a rubber duck. He enjoyed feeding the birds and turkeys that came to visit him on his porch. His smile brightened the day. Ron had a big heart and touched many people along his life’s journey. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.

Ron is survived by his parents, Dan and Pam Thurston; sister, Robyn (Danny) Watson; brothers, Dan Thurston, Roark (Shae) Thurston and Ryan Thurston; and nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Karen Thurston.

A Visitation will be held on February 21st from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Bay Mills Elder Center (Armella Parker Senior Center), 12485 W Lakeshore Dr., Brimley, MI 49715. The Funeral Service will begin immediately at 5:00 PM.

Final resting place will be Mission Hill Cemetery, Bay Mills Township, Michigan.
