Roy Junior Hoath of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away early in the morning on June 7, 2024, at Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie. He was born on July 27, 1941, in Sault Ste. Marie to Roy and Thelma (Pickard) Hoath.

Roy served two years in the United States Army and, upon his return home, took a job with the City of Sault Ste. Marie Police Department. He served for twenty-six years, retiring in 1997.
Roy married Elizabeth Albon in December 1951. They raised two sons, Steve (Terri) Hoath and Rodney (and special friend Sue) Hoath. They were blessed with two grandchildren, Jamie (Susan) Hoath and Stephanie Hoath, and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Ryan Todd.

Roy enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Roy is survived by his son, Steve (Terri) Hoath of St. Ignace; grandson, Jamie (Susan) Hoath of St. Ignace; granddaughter, Stephanie Hoath of Marquette, Michigan, great-grandchildren Cole and Ryan Todd of Marquette; and sister, Linda (Hoath) Crimin.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Rod; sisters, MaryLou Heikkinen, Phyllis Hall, and Darlene Allen; and brother, Jack Hoath.

A Graveside Service will take place at the Donaldson Cemetery at a later date.
