Ruth Irene (Ries) Wallis, age 84, of Brimley, Michigan, died on January 5, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1939, in Trout Lake, Michigan, to Oscar John and Bertha (Rott) Ries.

Ruth grew up in Trout Lake and attended Rudyard High School, graduating with the Class of 1956. She served in the United States Navy. She met James Wallis, and they married on October 7, 1962.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Eric (Karen) Wallis of Hoover, Alabama, and Jim Wallis of Marquette, Michigan; five grandchildren; sister, Carol Lovegrove; cousins, Mavis Williams, and Jerry Bradley; good friends, Bob (Laurie) Patterson, and Marlene Maki; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
