Obituary For Shannon Paige Hardy
Shannon Paige (Sayles) Hardy, age 26, of Rudyard, Michigan, died at McLaren Flint Hospital in Flint, Michigan, on August 18, 2023. She was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, on December 19, 1996, to Charles Robert Sayles III and Wilma (Bamberger) Sayles.
Shannon grew up in Hessel, Michigan, and graduated from Cedarville High School with the Class of 2015. After graduation she attended Oakland University where she met Lukas Hardy in Orion Township while she was attending school in 2017 and they instantly hit it off. Shannon earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakland in 2021 in Biomedical Diagnostics and was offered a job with Phoenix Imaging. Shannon and Lukas married on July 30, 2021, in Oakland County and then relocated to the Upper Peninsula and started a family. Shannon most recently took a job with R1, which allowed her to work from home while raising her two small children.
Shannon was a member of the Oakland University’s Intramural Basketball League while she attended college.
Shannon enjoyed playing Nintendo and Xbox with her husband in her spare time, but her pride and joy was taking care of her babies.
Shannon is survived by her husband, Lukas Hardy; son, Archer Charlie Hardy; daughter, Brynnly Hannelore Hardy; parents, Charles Robert Sayles III and Wilma Sayles; brother, Mason Sayles; grandmother, Doris Bamberger; aunt and uncle Ela and Micheal Spitzer; uncle, Larry Sayles; uncle and aunts, Keith and Stacy Matson, Kayla Matson, Ethan and Bridget Matson, cousins Nicholas and Karina Spitzer; cousins, Lea Spitzer and Aly Causley; father and mother-in-law, Keith and Lori-Anne Hardy; sister-in-law, Erica (Jason) Clute-Cubin, brothers-in-law, Chad Hardy and Adam (Meghan) Hardy; sisters-in-law, Racheal Hardy and Olivia Hardy; nephew, Kolson Hardy; grandmother-in-law, Hannelore Hanneman; and many aunt, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly.
Shannon was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Charles “Charlie” Sayles Jr., and Heinz Bamberger; great uncle, Chester Sayles; and grandfather-in-law, Randall Hardy Sr.
