Obituary For Tadd Gravelle
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Tadd Gravelle, a beloved brother, cherished uncle, creative chef, devoted friend, and passionate musician. Tadd departed this world on November 21, 2023, due to unforeseen health complications.
Born on October 25, 1970, a citizen of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Tadd embraced life with a zest for good food, profound friendships, and an immense love for his cherished pets. Throughout his career, Tadd served as a culinary chef in numerous establishments across Northern Michigan. Whether it be slinging fish baskets at Chums, breakfast skillets at Wilabee’s, entrees at Sacy’s, or burgers at Frank’s Place - Tadd's culinary talents were a source of joy for those fortunate enough to taste his creations for his kitchen was a place of warmth, where he poured his love for others into every bite of his dishes.
Tadd was truly rich in the currency of friendship. Known for his infectious smile and warm personality, he had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel like they were his best friend. His hugs were legendary, offering comfort and solace to those in need. Tadd's heart was as generous as his spirit, and his impact on the lives of those around him is immeasurable.
During Tadd’s free time he enjoyed a passion for the thrill of gambling and the tranquility of fishing out on the water. He found solace in the simplicity of these activities, forging memories with both his brothers and friends that will be cherished forever. From his love of the outdoors grew Tadd's love for animals, particularly his dogs. He treated them like family, showering them with the same love and devotion he gave to his human friends.
Music was another facet of Tadd's vibrant life. A talented singer, he fronted a band and was known for his powerful renditions of classics like "Patience" by Guns N' Roses, channeling the spirit of Axl Rose with every note. His performances were not just entertainment but an expression of his soul, leaving an indelible mark on those who were lucky enough to witness them.
Above all else, Tadd cherished his family, with a special place in his heart reserved for the love of his mother “Betsy” and his brothers. His devotion to family was a testament to the depth of his character and the richness of his love. Tadd’s sudden departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, laughter, and unwavering friendship.
Tadd is survived by his twin brother, Todd (Donna) Gravelle; brothers Robert (Janet) Gravelle and Mike Gravelle; nieces and nephews Renee McKenzie, Rachel Bommarito, Randi (Joe) Schuab, Whitney Gravelle, Corrina Gravelle, Ryan (Lauren) Gravelle; Derek Nolan, Jacqueline Gravelle, Alyssa Gravelle, Amanda (Jacob) Black, Alicia (Jesse) Scheibe; along with his many great-nephews and great-nieces. He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, Clyde (Sherrill) Gravelle, Phil Gravelle, Ronald Gravelle, Donald Gravelle, Kathy (Robert) Gravelle-Moiles, Susan Kinney.
Tadd was preceded in death by his parents Grace “Betsy” Gravelle and Raymond “Tibodeaux” Causley; uncle Wiliam “Chuck” Gravelle; and aunt Margarett Gravelle.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 30th, 2023 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Nokomis-Mishomis Elder Center at 2076 Shunk Road in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. A private burial will take place on Sugar Island, MI later next summer where Tadd will be buried next to his mother in Will Walk Cemetery.
