Virgene Marie Cryderman, age 93, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died at Medilodge in Sault Ste. Marie, on November 8, 2023. She was born on January 13, 1930, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Joseph and Margaret (Grant) Fortin.

Virgene grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and graduated from Sault High School in 1949. She raised six children, while working at War Memorial Hospital as a Nurse’s aide for twenty years.

Virgene loved being with her family, listening to music, knitting, baking, and having an occasional glass of red wine.

Virgene is survived by her sons, Jerry (Debbie) Cryderman of Sault Ste. Marie, Dale (Dena) Cryderman of Sault Ste. Marie; daughter, Karen (Dave) Pendell of Sault Ste. Marie; sister-in-law, Judy Fortin of San Dego, California; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Virgene is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Fortin; sons, Ronnie Cryderman, Calvin Cryderman, and Steve Cryderman; brother, Don Fortin Sault Ste. Marie.

Visitation will be held on November 14, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Family Life Funeral Homes in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM.

Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
