Obituaries

Walter Dale McMillan, age 75, died October 18, 2023 at home. He was born in Eckerman, Michigan, to parents Judd and Lois McMillan on May 9, 1948.

Walter enjoyed farming, especially working with horses and goats. He liked helping people and was always ready to tell them about the Gospel. One of his favorite pastimes was tinkering with old tractors.
He met his wife Betty Jo (Joann) at the Grace Brethren Church and they were married on February 24, 1977. They had one child, Stefanie. He loved his family and was a proud Papa to his two granddaughters.

Walter is survived by his wife, Betty Jo (Joann); daughter, Stefanie (John) Clark; granddaughters, Morgan and Peyton; siblings, Ron (Nellie) McMillan, Gerald (Carol) McMillan, Milton (Alma) McMillan, Carol Drukenmiller, Rick (Judi) McMillan, Audrey (Pat) McCarry, Tarry (Kathy) McMillan, Debbie (Brad) Gross, and Doris Heigel, along with many nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by parents, Judd and Lois; brothers Donald, and Paul and sister, Diane.

A memorial service will be held November 4th at 2:00 PM at Ozark Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Tom Barber officiating followed by a short internment at Trout Lake Lakeview There will be cookies and desserts (Walts's favorite things) at Trout Lake Township Hall immediately afterwards.
